Extensively trained as a specialist in prosthodontics, Dr. Stein may recommend restorative procedures such as dental implants for patients with missing or seriously damaged teeth. About James M. Stein, D.M.D.
Dr. James Stein has been practicing cosmetic and restorative dentistry as a prosthodontist since 1985. He received his undergraduate, doctoral, and post-doctoral degrees at Boston University. Dr. Stein has extensive clinical, surgical, and technical training to complement his treatment-planning experience. He has published and taught his clinical expertise to dentists around the world. He is a former post-doctoral course director in the department of prosthodontics at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Stein was also the first Boston dentist to incorporate the latest digital scanning technology, Cadent iTero™ system to enhance treatment accuracy.

Implant Dentistry
Patients with missing teeth (due to dental disease or trauma) that wish to avoid wearing removable prosthetic appliances, such as dentures, have a proven alternative. The placement of dental implants is another way to successfully restore one or more missing teeth. The use of dental implants to support either individual crowns or multi-tooth bridges will allow you to regain function and appearance. Dr. Stein’s 20 years of implant experience allows him to customize all implant restorations in his own office and avoid additional visits often needed for another dental lab or technician to complete the case.
